Maira is the proud mother of Brandon. In this book, Brandon tells the story of his adventure with gastroschisis and what the journey meant for him and his parents, as well as his entire medical team who loved and doted on him while in NICU. The book turns into an interactive experience for adults who read it as they can add details about their own child’s experience with gastroschisis, including child’s weight and height at birth. The main goal of Brandon’s story is to shine a light on a rather underrepresented issue within children’s literature.
